Info about Artist

I started drawing and working with paint at 12 years old. I grew up with two very creative parents from different cultural backgrounds in Houston, Tx. I was very inspired by the MFAH and living in a city with such resources of art history and diverse culture. My father is a surgeon from Iran who I watched sketch many finely detailed drawing and diagrams as a child. Symmetry and detail of living mechanisms had great meaning to me. My early inspirations were trees, geometry from organic forms in Iranian art, pre islamic painting and anything minutely detailed such as germs and microorganisms. My first self assigned paintings were orbs of light, saturated value scales, marine life, trees and oriental design. I started scuba diving when I was 14 years old and my underwater experiences fueled my desire to paint. Most of my body of work is from visions or inspirations from life. I have continued to explore them on canvas and linen with Acrylic and Oil paints. I studied Art at St.Edward's University and graduated with a Bachelors in Art. Over the years from moving to a smaller city I felt isolated , but have managed to explore Austin's creative subculture. I am continuing to study the geometry in persian art and biology. I am now more interested in combining new subjects with compositions and techniques I have discovered over time. My inspirations have only grown over the years and I will continue to dedicate myself to expanding my work.
